Education..

It's time for a change, and they know it.
I'm kinda referring to the Spore govt's decision to revamp the education system. As in no more academic rankings. I see that one as a taboo, for some personal reason. That thingee's a bit axiomatic, in my view, and in my view only. Seriously. Ain't it obvious yet? The depression (that's too harsh a word I think) of going to a bottom-ranked college is an experience, though the college serves almost the same purpose as any other one in Spore. Almost. Yet, there's something tentative that bugs every single soul that enters a lowly ranked institution. There's this feeling of incarceration, should I say. And suddenly, and for no particular reason, individuals entering a so-called better school evolve into a saintly soul. Vice versa. That's in my view too. No particular attack on anyone, or anything.
So they're gonna consider the aesthetics more now? As if. Don't believe the papers totally. As convincing as the media might sound, you still gotta keep in mind that Spore's still running on a meritocratic system. No way to hide from it. Absolutely no way. And get real people. Who would seriously consider sports, or TV, as the apogee of their career arc? Anybody out there?
But still, guess that's good enough for a change. Step by step, they say. Yeah I know, I sound soo very cynical here. But it's just a personal view, at this moment of time.
Yup. That's it. Guess I sound very different from my naturally ebullient state. Gee, think I sound more like some weirdo trying to overthrow the govt. Heh. Nope. Not me. Not in my future plans. Not at all. You know, just happened to read today's Straits Times, Home section. There's something about this thingy. And the pic of yjc floorball's out, but no me in it. Sigh everybody sigh. Nyahahaa.. But do go and have a look at it. I'm particularly impressed by the banding thingee.
